Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began by releasing a humorous rap track dealing with issues related to sexual and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood when she dropped a series of raps. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop in her teen years. After concentrating on education, she earned an education in journalism at university and also a women's study degree. The focus changed to music once she finished her studies. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. It also contained popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown the city of New York Bitche$. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. As a musician and an author as her credentials, she began looking for an actor for a third venture. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
