Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. Born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) - and Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American actress and singer. Kristen was born in Michigan's Huntington Woods with a Polish mother and a father who has a mix of German, English Irish, Scottish and Irish. Kristen discovered a passion to perform on a young stage. In 1992 she won her first acting role in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mother signed her up at an agency prior to when turning 13 years old. She was then featured in TV commercials as well as newspaper advertisements. In addition to taking private lessons in acting, she launched her career around that time. Bell played a small part that was not credited to her in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School where she participated in the music and drama clubs. The Wizard of Oz was performed by her high school and she won the role as Dorothy. Bell was then transferred into New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell left the school in 2001, when she was cast in the role Becky to play Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell made her debut on the credit screen as Becky in Pootie Tang. But, her scene was cut from the film and she only appears as a credit. In 2002, Bell was on her first Broadway production of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
